Title: The Fight for the Information Domain
Description: The events of 9/11 were not isolated incidents. Rather, they were part of an on-going offensive which, if unchecked, could create parts of our world where basic human rights and democratic freedoms are forbidden. Today, the global war on terror is truly global. In the words of Al-Qaeda senior leadership, 'more than half of this battle is on the battlefield of the media,' and their effort in this regard is fully operational. Websites, satellite television, and online video games are all being used to recruit, finance and connect violent extremists around the world. Other efforts seek to disrupt our operations or simply break America's will to fight. The Fight for the Information Domain, intended for internal Army audiences of Soldiers, Army Civilians and Family Members, provides a clear and compelling case on how truthful public communication plays a vital role in this fight. This short video makes clear there is an operational need -- a requirement -- for the Army family to communicate with the American public as often as possible. Hosted by Maj. Gen. Tony Cucolo, the program encourages everyone in the Army to tell their story to the public -- and do their part to help turn the tide of violence against the free world.
